During the 1950s, there was still a degree of independence and rivalry between the EMI labels, so there would be a crossover of interests as they tried to outdo each other internally. Administratively of course, things became pretty centralised as cataloguing and marketing became increasingly unified for Parlophone, Columbia, HMV and MGM (the US label with whom EMI held the distribution licence for the UK).
